Events

So it's been a while since Ive written... oops. Two weekends ago we went to Kasey's (my little sister) Spring Spectacular. It's an event that the zoo puts on every year to raise money. They have shows and booths etc. This year the show was The Parrots of The Caribbean. Elliott loved it but every time Kasey left the stage he flipped out because he thought she was leaving. Other than that it was great.

Kasey is going to be graduating this year in May! As soon as we get back from the wedding in Nashville she will be having her graduation party.

Last weekend Adam and I celebrated our anniversary. Tomorrow is the actual anniversary. I cant believe it's been 3 years since we were married. We went to Laguna Beach for the weekend and we stayed at Casa Laguna Inn. It was expensive but worth it! The Inn is covered in plants and feels like you are in Hawaii.

They have wine and cheese between 5 and 7 and then serve a gourmet breakfast in the morning. Adam and I kept joking that the place was to fancy for us and that they would find us out! Then a lady asked for ketchup to put all over their beautiful butternut omelet so we suddenly didn't feel so out of place. We ate dinner at this great Italian family owned restaurant where they make their own pastas and sauces.

The beach was beautiful. It was a perfect weekend.

Scarlett is getting so big! She has been smiling but I have yet to capture it on camera. She loves laying on her tummy while poking her head up to look around. Elliott is turning into such a big kid. He asked if he could sing into Adams expensive microphone and I said "No, its Daddys and it cost a lot" so he asked "How much momma?" I said "Hundreds" and he replied with "Hundreds!? You gotta be kidding me momma"

Katie went to Disneyworld last weekend and brought Elliott back this cute safari outfit. She spoils him and he loves it.

We are in the process of trying to get a loan to buy a house! I have been doing a lot of looking around at houses. There are so many good deals right now for California. We are just waiting to hear back from our mortgage guy to see whats our status. Wish us luck!

Bellybutton

Scarlett's little umbilical cord finally fell off today! Adam was the one who had to clean it every day because it grossed me out. Now she has a cute little bellybutton. We can give her a real bath now instead of a sponge bath.

Elliott is trying to help with Scarlett all of the time. He sings her songs when she is fussy and tells her "It's ok Scarlett, be patient" when she is hungry and cries. The only thing he hasn't tried helping with is changing her poopy diapers. When he sees them he yells "yucky poop-a-doop!"

Tomorrow is Scarlett's 2 week checkup. We are hoping that her jaundice has gotten better and that her weight has gone back up.

Scarlett

Scarlett was born on Feb. 25, 2009 at 8:34 am. She was 21.25" tall and weighed in at 8 pounds and 2 ounces. The surgery went great and we had no problems.

We were in the hospital for 3 days and were excited to come home. This was her first day home:

Scarlett is O+ and I am B- so she was born with jaundice. That was our only negative experience with the hospital. They have pediatricians that change shift every 12 hours and each of them had their own opinion on her condition. One would say that she was fine, the next would say that her condition was getting into a dangerous amount, then another doctor would say she was fine. Because of that, her level of jaundice went way higher than it should have. Now we have a special blanket for her that has brought it way down.

Elliott LOVES being a big brother! He is always trying to touch her and talk to her. We let him hold her tonight and when we tried to take her back he said, "No. She is mine!" He keeps telling us that he is going to bake her a cake or cook her a hotdog.

We took them to get photos yesterday and they came out great!

That's all for now. Hopefully we will keep up with this!
